Rajahmundry is well connected to all parts of the state. NH-5 passes by this place so it as an excellent road connectivity to all important places like Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam etc.

Rajahmundry is the biggest railway station for godavari districts and is situated on the madras-howrah railway line.

Rajahmundry airport[8] which is located in Madhurapudi provides flights to important destinations like Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Chennai. Plans are afoot to expand this airport and to build a new terminal building. The runway would be expanded to handle larger aircrafts and night landing facilities would be added. Speculations are rife that plane services would be started to Banglore and Tirupathi as well.
Vijjeswaram, 20 km from here, in west Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh.

Vijjeswaram power project unit : The 60 MW capacity steam turbo set of the second phase of stage-II of the country's first gas-based power project was synchronised with the state electricity board on December 1998.The project is situated at Vijjeswaram, 30 km from here, in west Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh.The second stage, with a total capacity of 172 MW, was completed on time at a cost of Rs 434 crore as against the initial estimation of Rs 471 crore.

Annavaram is at a distance of 72 kms from Rajahmundry, 124km from Visakhapatnam and 498 kms from Hyderabad and it is a sacred piligrim centre on a hill top known as Ratnagiri. The presiding deity at Annavaram is Veeravenkata Satyanarayana Swamy. It is believed when Vrata is performed in the anme of Satyanarayana Swamy by devotees, their wishes will be fulfilled. It is estimated on an average about one lakh Vratas are performed here every year by couples generally. Marriages, thread marriages (upanayanam) are performed in large number. Chief festival days are Bhishma Ekadasi (Jan/Feb) and Kalyanotsavam, Vysakha Ekadasi (Apr/May) are important. It is situated on the banks of river pampa about 3 km from Annavaram.
Ryali lies at a distance of 25 km from Rajahmundry. It is famous for the temple of Jaganmohini-Kesavaswami. The idol of the deity is beautifully carved on black stone and it is worth seeing for its sculptural beauty and grand appearance.
Draksharamam is a shaivite shrine 185 km. from Vijayawada, 17 km. from Kakinada, 40 km. from Rajahmundry and 466 km. from Hyderabad. It is believed that sage Vyasa who performed penance here named this as Dakshina Kasi (Southern Benaras). Legend has it that the Saptamaharishis (Seven Sages) to achieve the ends of their penance divided the akhanda (unbranched) Godavari river into seven different streams at Draskharama. Bharadhwaja, Viswamitra and Jamadagni streams known as Antarvahinies, were believed to have gone under ground. There is Sapta Godavari Kundam (Seven river pond) near the temple where the devotees bathe. Sivarathri attracts huge crowds of pilgrims.
According to another local legend a king by name Kaksha Prajapati performed a great yaga with the motive of insulting his son-in-law Lord Siva. The king invited everyone except his own son-in-law. Parvathi, though uninvited, attended the yagna and was ill treated. Unable to withstand the insult, she subjected herself to self immolation. Thus this place is known as "Daksha Vatika" and later as Dakshramam or Draksharamam. There are a number of rock edicts (Sasanas)engraved on the walls of the temple. The temple art shows the influence of a blend of sculptural traditions of Chalukya and Chola styles. Famous Telugu poet Srinatha (4th century) is said to have written a Prabhanda Kavya 'Bhimakhanda' about this sacred place.

Air: The nearest airport to Draskharamam is in Vijayawada at a distance of 185 km.
Rail: The nearest rail head is in Kakinada at a distance of 17 km.
Road: One can easily reach Draskharam by bus from Kakinada and Rajahmundry.

Simhachalam is 16 km. from Visakhapatnam, the "Hill of the Lion", famous for its 11th century hilltop temple of Lord Narasimha. The deity is always covered with sandalwood paste, giving it an appearance of a sandalwood Shiva Linga. During the Chandanayatra festival celebrated here with great pomp in March-April, the real shape of the deity can be seen.

Rail: The nearest rail head is in Visakhapatnam is at a distance of 16 km.
Road: Simhachalam is easily accessible from Visakhapatnam by the bus services offered by the government.

As the journey from Bhadrachalam to Rajahmundry takes about 8 hours on the boat, there are several sights that stand unique in their attraction.

Apart from papikondalu hill range, a small fishermen village of 'peranta palli' is very special. A walk through the village takes you up the hill to the beginning of a very exciting waterfalls. This place is usually very crowded in the weekends with locals taking break with their families.

Pattisema is a small island in the route that is a very famous hindu piligrimage spot. It is named after one of the weapons of Lord Siva and has a temple for Veerabhadra, a warrior of Lord Siva's force.
Antarvedi is 10-km from Narasapur (West Godavari district) by boat and 24-km from Razole by road. The Shrine of Sri 'Lakshminarasimhaswami' at the place is of religious importance. The Lakshminarasimhaswami Kalyanam celebrated on the Bhishma Ekadasi day during January-February is attended by thousands of pilgrims.

A fair is also held and lakhs of people attend the celebrations. Stalls are put up and people enjoy shopping variety of sweets, bangles, clothes etc. Devotees come here to have a holy dip in the 'Sapta Sagara Sangama Pradesam' (the confluence of the sea and the 'Vasishta Godavari', one of the seven branches of Godavari), as it is believed that all their sins will be washed away by a single dip in the holy river.

It is famous saiva temple located in Ainavalli mandalam. There are bus services from its near by town Amalapuram. Its nearest railway station is Kotipalli. If we alight train at Kotipalli we should ferry on mechanised boat to cross river Goutami between Kotipalli and Mukteswaram ferry. Distance from Mukteswaram ferry to Mukteswaram is approximately 2 KMs.
In Ainavalli there is famous temple of Siddhi Vinayaka. There are bus services from its near by town Amalapuram. Its nearest railway station is Kotipalli.Ainavilli is located at a distance of 72 Km from Kakinada (Via Yanam, Amalapuram and Mukteswaram), 55 Km from Rajahmundry (Via Ravulapalem, Kotapeta and Vanapalli) and 14 Kms from Amalapuram (Mukteswaram).According to Vaastu Sastra the most suitable places to build temples are, on the bank of a river, near the sea - hore, at the confluence of rivers, on top of a mountain or near places of sanctity.

In the midst of the lush - green fields of the River Godavari the Konaseema area reminds one of the sanctity and sacred feeling described in the Vaastu Sastra. In this area of Konaseema is AINAVILLI, where the "SIDDI VINAYAKA TEMPLE" is situated.

Before performing Daksha Yagna Daksha Prajapati was supposed to have performed puja of Vinayaka at this place for its successful completion. This is written in the "KSHETRA PURANA" of this place. There is another story that Vyasa Maharshi, during the beginning of his tour of the South, had installed the Son of Parvati at this place and this age - old "SIDDI VINAYAKA" is reputed to fulfill the wishes of his devotees.

In a spacious, elevated area, this temple of Vinayaka stands with idol facing South. With two gopurams and gates, one can approach Vinayaka from the south and Sri Visveswara Swamy from the East.

In the same compound is situated Sri Devi, Bhudevi with Sri Kesava Swamy. By the side are situated Sri Annnapurna Devi. Sri Kalabhairava Swamy and Kshetrapalaka are situated by the side.

Special Pujas are performed every month on Chaviti, Dasami, Ekadasi days. During Vinayaka Chavithi Navarathri, Karthika Masam, Prabha festival on Sankranthi and Sivarathri special archanas are performed.

According to Saivagama, every day archanas are performed. Abhisheka is done regularly according to sastra. Thousands of people from far - off places throng the temple to worship Siddi Vinayaka, who fulfills the wishes of his devotees quickly, directly. Devotees worship at the shrine of Ganapathi, placed in the midst of coconut gardens, the green fields and natural surroundings. Devotees take a vow to visit the temple to get their wishes fulfilled it is the belief and practice of the people of this area to make a promise in the name of this God.

It is the belief of our people that this very ancient temple was installed by early "DEVATAS". In course of time the re - establishment, renovation and development was undertaken by Peddapuram rulers. At present the temple is maintained by the Endowment Department .

Distance from Ainavalli to Mukteswaram ferry is approximately 3 KMs and ferry on boats to go to Kotipalli station.

Famous temple of Bala Balaji is located in Appanapalli. There are busses from Appanapalli to Palakollu town which is around 35 KMs from there. Palakolllu is also connected with railway line. There is also proposed railway station at village Pasarlapudi on proposed Kotipalli Narasapuram railway line around 2 KMs from Appanapalli.The Bala Balaji Temple has a rich history dating from the time of sages Vasishtha and Gautama. Sage Vainateya brought this tributary of Godavari to Appanapalli from Sage Gautama. Since then, it has been known as Vainateya, the river. Several pilgrims came from far to offer their prayers to Sri Bala Balaji, a form of Vishnu. They would take a purifying bath in the Vainateya, and proceed for their spiritual rites.
KOTIPALLI, which is in Ramachandra - puram Taluk of East Godavari District, is famous as the seat of an ancient temple where Lord Siva is worshipped as Sri Someswaraswamy. The Goddess is Sri Rajarajeswari Ammavaru. The old Rajahs of Vijayanagar are the hereditary trustees of this temple also along with those of Simhachalam.
Kotipalli is situated on the banks of the sacred Godavari at a point where it joins the sea. It can be reached from Kakinada stations on buses ply to Kotipalli.
It is one of the oldest temples in India. It is also called Second Kasi. The Shiva is in the form of Cock shape. We can see the padas of the Gaya Rakshas here. It is very famous temple. The shiva is called "Kukkuteswara Swamy" and the Parvathi is called "Raja Rajeswari". The Nandi in front of the Shiva Linga is very famous and it has the liveliness in it. There is one Durga Temple in the campus of this temple which is also one of the Ashta Dasa Pithas of Goddess Durga. The Pitham of the Goddess is lying here and hence the name comes "Puruhuthika Devi" and the town is called as "Pithapuram". Shri Dattatreya Swamy Temple is also present here. It is very famous as the Dattatreya's next incarnation is Shri Pada Vallabha Swamy was born in Pithapuram only.

Pandavula metta is a Historical place located at Pedda puram, 45 Km from Rajahmundry connected with bus service.Pandava CavesThere are also two natural caves on the hill facing East . It is widely believed that the Pandavas of Epic Mahabharatha lived here for some time during their 'Aranyavasa'.

"Bheemunipadalu' (prints of Bheema's feet, the second brother of Pandavas) can be seen on a hill rock behind the temple. It is also believed that there is tunnel from this place to Rajahmundry.
Chandavaram is located on the right bank of the river Gundla Kamma in Pakasam district.There is a very interesting stupa constructed on elevated terrace which is the first of its kind in Andhra Pradesh and stands next to Sanchi Stupa, in elegance

Adurru is located near Nagaram in Razole Taluk of East Godavari district. The village lies on the West bank of the Vainetaya, a branch of Godavari river 9.5 Km. from the sea.

The mound is locally known as Dubaraju Gudi. Archaeological Survey of India conducted excavations in 1953 and brought to light, remains of stupas, Chaityas and Vinaras among which the Mahastupa, built on wheel shaped plan 17 feet in diameter with a raised platform running all around the drum and Ayaka platforms on cardinal directions. The Buddhist remnants spread across an area of approximately 2.04 acres.

Adurru is located 30 Kms from Amalapuram and is well connected by Road. The nearest Railway Station is Rajahmundry and distance is 130 Kms from it and by Air from Hyderabad, Vizag Airports.

This Boudha Ramam belongs to Satavahana period at Kodavali in Gollaprolu mandal. A hill situated near to the village where Boudha Ramam constructed. This is one of the 84,000 Stupa constructed by Emperor Ashoka.

This Stupa supposed to have been constructed by Gouthami Putra Yagnasri, last emperor of Satavahana Dynasty. Kodavali Boudha Ramam was constructed for the Buddhist monks to come and stay at this place. Buddhist monks belongs to Mahayana. Even Acharya Nagarjuna have reached here from Sriparvatha.

Kodavali Boudha Ramam situated on 3 Kms away from the National Highway No 5, 65 Kms away from Rajahmundry and 45 Kms away from Kakinada.
